RICHARD V. ZANZALARI, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences in 1990 and his Juris Doctor degree from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1999.  He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, The United States Supreme Court and The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  Mr. Zanzalari is a Registered Pharmacist in New Jersey.

While at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Mr. Zanzalari performed undergraduate research in the pharmacology laboratory of Dr. Timothy Maher.  He has authored and co-authored articles entitled “Gastrointestinal Transit Studies, The Usage of PPA and Enantiomers in OTC Diet Preparations,” and “Enantiomers of d,l-Norephedrine (PPA) Suppress Food Intake in Rats Made Hyperphagic”.

Mr. Zanzalari has 14 years experience as a hospital pharmacist.  Prior to starting law school, he worked for three years as an Investigational Research Pharmacist at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey.  He was responsible for setting up and maintaining the records of investigational protocols for various pharmaceutical companies in the areas of Oncology, Infectious Disease, Anesthesia and Cardiology.

Mr. Zanzalari’s experience includes prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in the areas of pharmaceutical formulations, medicinal chemistry, medical devices and mechanical inventions and preparing opinions on a range of patent issues, including validity and infringement, freedom to operate, and due diligence of intellectual property involved in mergers and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical industry for both domestic and international corporations.

Mr. Zanzalari has represented innovators and generic and specialty pharmaceutical companies with respect to patent issues related to NDA, ANDA and §505(b)(2) filings with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under the Hatch-Waxman Act and has counseled clients with respect to Paragraph IV Certifications.
